The Blue Economy includes all marine-based and marine-related sectors that rely on healthy ocean and coastal ecosystems. From maritime innovation and marine science to sustainable tourism, fisheries, offshore renewable energy, and beyond, the sector has enormous potential to drive a more inclusive, resilient, and sustainable future.
Despite this potential, women remain underrepresented across many Blue Economy industries, while comprehensive gender data, targeted capacity-building programmes, and inclusive career pathways are still limited across the EU.
This is where the WIN-BIG project is making a difference.
Supported by CINEA and DG MARE, WIN-BIG is working to address gender imbalance and skills gaps across Blue Economy sectors in Europe’s six sea basins. Through research, learning labs, acceleration programmes, and networking opportunities, the initiative seeks to empower more women to enter, advance, and lead throughout the Blue Economy value chain.
At Blue Pangolin Consulting, we believe that sustainable growth and innovation are strengthened by diverse perspectives, inclusive leadership, and equitable opportunities. We are therefore proud to join the WIN-BIG network and contribute to building a more gender-balanced, innovative, and resilient Blue Economy ecosystem.
We look forward to collaborating with fellow stakeholders, exchanging knowledge, and supporting initiatives that enable more women to thrive across marine and maritime industries.
