This newly established group brings together more than 100 leading experts on natural heritage and area-based conservation, representing over 25 countries across all IUCN regions. The Specialist Group aims to:

  • Connect the WCPA’s global experts on management and monitoring, both within and beyond World Heritage properties.
  • Communicate the unique contributions of World Heritage to achieving our global goals for biodiversity, climate, and more (including 30×30).
  • Strengthen the links between nature and culture to build the strongest possible constituency for conserving our shared heritage.

Francis looks forward to contributing to this group to help deliver the ambitious objectives outlined in the Union-wide IUCN World Heritage Strategy. His appointment enables Blue Pangolin Consulting to strengthen its activity and knowledge within the global context of effective marine and coastal management alongside further building the teams expertise and knowledge on the effective management of Area-based Management Tools.
