We are pleased to share that in January 2025 Margaux was appointed as an Advisory Board member for the Ecosystem-Based Adaptation for Coastal Regions Worldwide (TROPICAL ADAPT) project. This places her at the heart of a growing global effort to strengthen climate resilience in tropical and subtropical coastal regions through nature-based solutions.
The TROPICAL ADAPT project, running from August 2024 to April 2027, is led by the Ecologic Institute on behalf of the German Federal Agency for Nature Conservation (BfN) and funded by the German Federal Ministry for the Environment (BMUV). The project aims to promote ecosystem-based adaptation (EbA) by building a robust technical knowledge base, encouraging cross-sector collaboration, and delivering actionable policy recommendations.
Margaux’s expertise in the science-policy interface and her leadership in coral reef restoration and adaptation , brings a wealth of experience from both in-field knowledge as well as engagement with the International Coral Reef Initiative (ICRI). This reflects Margaux’s commitment to integrating biodiversity, climate resilience, and community-driven approaches in coastal ecosystem management.
In her advisory role, Margaux participated in the project’s first virtual scoping workshop hosted in February 2025. The event convened Advisory Board members and key stakeholders from science, policy, and practice to shape the strategic direction of TROPICAL ADAPT. The discussions focused on identifying challenges and opportunities for EbA in diverse coastal contexts, refining the project’s research priorities, and fostering global collaboration.

During the workshop, participants set the stage for an engaging and thoughtful exchange. The project framework was introduced, outlining a series of international workshops, global case studies, and a structured research process consisting of screening, in-depth analysis, and synthesis.
Margaux’s role within the TROPICAL ADAPT project ensures Blue Pangolin Consulting’s wide-ranging expertise and experience can be applied to guide the successful delivery of the project’s objectives; driving cross-sector collaboration, knowledge sharing and technical implementation within the coastal environment. Margaux looks forward to the next steps of the project in which Ecologic will host the workshop “Ecosystem-based Adaptation for Coastal Resilience: In-depth workshop on stocktake and finance perspectives” on 7 and 8 October 2025 in Berlin
