Evaluation and capitalisation of the 3rd phase of the French Coral Reef Initiative

The objectives of the 3^rd phase were to encourage the development of a network of Marine Protected Areas; to increase scientific knowledge on coral reefs of the French overseas communities; to assess the socio-economic value of coral reef communities in French overseas; to raise awareness of the issues of conservation of coral reefs and associated ecosystems; and to contribute to the observation of the effect of climate change. Francis Staub was a member of the team in charge of the evaluation and capitalisation, and focussed of the following themes: climate change, communication, and economic valuation of coral reefs.
