Technical support to the MedFund
The MedFund is an environmental trust fund based in Monaco, specifically dedicated to the financing of marine protected areas in the Mediterranean.
The MedFund is based on funding from bilateral and multilateral donors who are historically interested in this theme, but also on funding from other sources, particularly the private and philanthropic endeavours.
Throughout January and June 2022, Blue Pangolin Consulting provided technical support to the MedFund for current and future MPA funding recipients. The four main activities of the consultancy were to:
- Support current funding recipients from Turkey, Tunisia, Morocco and Albania.
- Support applicants for the Highly Protected Marine Initiative (HPMI) call for proposals and review the proposals received.
- Launch of call for expression of interest for MPAs as part of Monaco Ocean Week 2022.
- Support for the preparation of the March 2022 Board meeting.
