Blue Pangolin Consulting was engaged to support the Global Fund for Coral Reefs (GFCR) in advancing its strategic advocacy and engagement goals during a pivotal “Blue Year” for ocean action.
Working closely with the Catalytic Finance Foundation and GFCR Secretariat, and leveraging its role as the host of the ICRI Secretariat, Blue Pangolin leads the planning and execution of high-impact events and bilateral engagements to mobilise sustainable finance and strengthen political will. The consultancy contributes directly to GFCR’s ambition of catalysing up to $3 billion by 2030 for resilient coral reef ecosystems, enhancing visibility, alignment with global policy processes, and multi-stakeholder collaboration.
Key deliverables include:
- Coordination and delivery of the #ForCoral Pavilion at the Third UN Ocean Conference, including speaker curation, agenda setting, and post-event communications;
- Organisation of high-level events to mobilise donor commitments for reef finance;
- Co-hosting of events at key global forums, including the Our Ocean Conference, IUCN World Conservation Congress, and UNEA;
- Organisation of 5–10 bilateral meetings with ICRI members and strategic actors to foster partnerships and reinforce investment pipelines Event logistics, communications, and stakeholder coordination across major international venues
