Blue Pangolin Consulting is pleased to announce that Francis has been appointed as an Expert Advisor to The Earthshot Prize, one of the world’s most influential global initiatives dedicated to addressing the planet’s most urgent environmental challenges.
Founded by Prince William, The Earthshot Prize was established to discover, support, and help scale innovative solutions that have the potential to repair the planet and drive meaningful environmental progress within this decade. Each year, the Prize identifies a group of finalists and winners whose work demonstrates measurable impact and strong potential for global scale.
Who will be the 2026 Earthshot Prize finalists and winners?
That question is answered through a rigorous global selection process powered by an extensive international network.
The Earthshot Prize works with a global nominator network of 432 nominators across 75 countries, drawing on expertise from science, conservation, policy, finance, and entrepreneurship. These nominators identify projects and initiatives that are already delivering positive impact and show clear potential to scale through growth, replication, or system-wide change.
As an Expert Advisor, Francis will contribute his experience and insight to help assess and strengthen nominated solutions, supporting the Prize’s mission to identify initiatives capable of delivering long-term impact across the five Earthshots:
Protect and Restore Nature
This Earthshot focuses on reversing biodiversity loss and restoring ecosystems on land, including forests, grasslands, and freshwater systems. Solutions aim to protect wildlife, regenerate degraded landscapes, and ensure nature can thrive alongside human development.
Clean
Our Air
This Earthshot targets air pollution and its impact on human health and the environment. It seeks innovations that reduce emissions, improve air quality, and enable communities to breathe cleaner, healthier air
Revive Our Oceans
Focused on ocean health, this Earthshot supports solutions that protect marine ecosystems, restore fisheries, reduce pollution, and promote sustainable ocean-based economies critical to food security and climate regulation.
Build a Waste-Free World
This Earthshot addresses waste and pollution by promoting circular economy solutions. It includes innovations that reduce waste generation, eliminate plastic pollution, and redesign systems so materials are reused, recycled, or composted rather than discarded.
Fix Our
Climate
This Earthshot concentrates on climate change mitigation and adaptation, supporting solutions that reduce greenhouse gas emissions, accelerate the transition to clean energy, and help communities adapt to the impacts of a changing climate
The final five Winners, one per Earthshot, are ultimately chosen in a judging session by the prestigious Earthshot Prize Council, a global group of world-renowned individuals committed to championing positive environmental action. Each year’s winners are then celebrated at the annual Earthshot Prize Awards Ceremony.
