Building Coastal resilience through Nature-based and Integrated Solutions – Risk Financing and Insurance Solutions for Coastal Resilience

As part of a multi-partner initiative led by the Asian Development Bank, Blue Pangolin is supporting the design and delivery of a pioneering project that strengthens coastal climate resilience through the economic valuation of coral reefs and development of sustainable and risk finance models, including Parametric Insurance. Implemented in the Philippines, Indonesia, Fiji, and the Solomon Islands, the programme aims to benefit over 600,000 people through improved livelihoods and to increase coastal resilience for 200,000 via ecosystem-based services. Blue Pangolin leads as Knowledge, Learning and Communications Coordinator (Tom) and Events/Capacity Development Specialist (Francis), with a central role in knowledge dissemination, stakeholder training, and community engagement.

Working alongside consortium partners – including Landell Mills, WWF, Rare, Konservasi Indonesia, GEF, and ACliFF – Blue Pangolin developed practical, scalable tools and approaches to mainstream natural capital into national decision-making and risk financing frameworks, supporting replication across ADB member countries.
