Blue Pangolin Consulting serves as the Designated Administrative Representative (DAR) to the ICRI Secretariat, facilitating global coral reef conservation efforts through coordination, strategic advice, and operational support. Blue Pangolin’s role as the DAR underpins ICRI’s efforts to build a global community that recognises the ecological, social, and economic values of coral reefs, promoting their resilience and inclusion in international policies. Activities include support to the Global Coral Reef Monitoring Network (GCRMN), the production of flagship reports such as the Status of Coral Reefs of the World, and organising international meetings and workshops. Key roles encompass liaising with member states, developing action plans, fostering partnerships, and amplifying ICRI’s visibility in global ocean forums. Blue Pangolin’s role actively engages with the wider coral reef community, civil society, Indigenous Peoples, youth, and stakeholders, ensuring inclusive and science-driven coral reef conservation aligned with global biodiversity frameworks.
Main Deliverables:
- Developing a draft Plan of Action for implementation during its hosting term.
- Carrying out the financial stewardship of the ICRI Secretariat
- Managing membership
- Convening and organising General Meetings
- Receiving and answering correspondence on behalf of the Initiative
- Maintaining and updating web-based media, including the ICRIForum website as well as ICRI social media
- Promoting ICRI and its work, including by providing comment on relevant international texts and at international fora and conferences where side events may be organised subject to budgetary circumstances
- Identifying and liaising with successor state(s) to take on Host Secretariat responsibilities.
